Chesed/Caring @ BJEP
We have much to celebrate in our community. B’nei Mitzvah, weddings, babies, athletes, high school graduations and promotions. As a community, we recognize that we also experience lost jobs, sick parents, the passing of loved ones, the challenges of parenting, the stress of school.
Chesed at BJEP is a parent-led working group that fosters connections within the BJEP community. Chesed translated loosely means “loving-kindness” or “compassion.” As parents, we want to model kindness and compassion for our children. Part of being a community includes being connected to what is happening in each other’s lives. We hope to promote community and loving-kindness by reaching out to members of our community during times of difficulty and joy.
Chesed Class Liaison positions:
We are a group of parent volunteers that work toward building community and inclusion by performing acts of kindness to families at BJEP. These small acts can be during a time of difficulty, such as sending a card to a family who has lost a loved one. It can also be to spread word of a celebration or recognition. Joining the group is a simple way of being involved in the BJEP community. We hope to grow this group to be able to assist in meal sign up or other coordinated volunteer efforts. Consider this option when choosing your parent role.
