Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) mission is to inspire and mobilize the diverse Boston Jewish community to engage in building communities of learning and action that strengthen Jewish life and improve the world. BJEP is grateful to partner with CJP, and be part of the Boston area Jewish community. We love PJ Library. In addition to activities, Jewish learning resources and recipes, sign up to receive Jewish children’s books for kids age 6 months – 8 years. They believe in the magic when parents sit down together to read with their children, and we cannot agree more. Also find details about the PJ Our Way program for kids ages 9-12, who get to choose their own books and tailor their experience based on their interests and reading level. PJ Library welcomes all Jewish families, whatever your background, knowledge, or family make-up, or observance may be.
Arts & Culture
Brandeis and the Arts: Since the University’s founding, the arts have played an important role in our commitment to global citizenship and social change. Brandeis is one of New England’s premier arts centers, featuring live music and theater year-round, one of the nation’s foremost collections of modern art at the Rose Art Museum, our annual Leonard Bernstein Festival of the Creative Arts, as well as degree programs in the creative arts.
Jewish Arts Collaborative (JArts): explore the rich, diverse, and creative world of Jewish arts and culture—past, present, and future— with programming spanning the traditional to the innovative. Find JLive series of virtual cultural experiences.
Museum of the Jewish People at Beit Hatfutsot – BJEP students visited this Tel Aviv museum for a tour one virtual Sunday during Spring 2020. Learn more about their exhibits and online learning tools that connect Jewish people to their roots and strengthens their personal and collective Jewish identity.
Volunteer Opportunities:
During the year, BJEP families volunteer at Family Table through the Jewish Family & Children’s Services in Waltham, and help pack and deliver groceries to area seniors and families in need. Brandeis Teacher Resources / Education Programs for your High School Students
Brandeis Pre-College Programs and Summer courses: opportunities for our Madrichim (grades 10-12) can be found on the Brandeis University campus each summer, with a remote program planned in 2020. Brandeis offers scholarships too. Apply to a variety of programs which include topics such as Service Leadership, Social Justice, Global Health and Queer Academics/Activism :

Beantown Jewish Gardens: BJEP’s partner on the farm on Sukkot, and a resource on being responsible stewards of the earth and hosts of the Jewish Sustainable Food Fest.
BimBam/watch something Jewish: BimBam uses digital storytelling to spark connections to Judaism for learners of all ages.
We partnered with 18Doors to bring our families a wonderful Cookalong to inspire for Rosh Hashanah in Sept 2020. 18Doors empowers people in interfaith relationships to engage in Jewish life and make Jewish choices, and encourages Jewish communities to welcome them.
We partner with Gateways to provide support to our staff and teaching team. Gateways provides high quality special education services, expertise and support to enable students with diverse learning needs to succeed in Jewish educational settings and participate meaningfully in Jewish life.
Hebrew College Blog: BJEP partners with Hebrew College to offer Parenting Through a Jewish Lens classes for BJEP parents on campus on Sunday mornings. This blog offers insightful posts on music, prayer, cooking and more.

Other Resources we Love!
This independent toy store continues to serve communities in the greater Boston area for over 40 years. They specialize in products that encourage kids of all ages to “unplug and play” and in doing so learn more about themselves and the world around them. BJEP appreciates the opportunity to partner with Henry Bear’s Park each December to wrap gifts at their local stores and support BJEP’s programs.
